A Little Steampunk

Out in the Northern suburbs of Brisbane, in Queensland Australia, there is a shed…in amongst a whole heap of other sheds and buildings. This shed is part of the ‘Old Petrie Town’ historical village & markets complex. Inside is a world of imagination and testaments of the longevity of well constructed machinery. Here are some images, from the very big to the very small:

An old electricity generator, steam powered of course.

The main drive piston and some of the mechanicals of a 600hp steam powered flywheel.

A midsized steam generator

One of the lubrication delivery pumps on that big piston in the first image.

The next image is a tiny, fully functioning steam powered engine:

How tiny?
