It’s Weekly Photo Challenge time again. The subject is ‘Escape’. I decided to go for the literal, because I’ve been having a bit of a nostalgia trip through an old hard drive full of images from 2010, back to 2004 and earlier. I took this a little over three years ago at the Dreamtime Motel in Rockhampton, Queensland Australia. This python had been inadvertently disturbed by our two youngest girls when they were playing in the gardens. The drain pipe that it is crawling into is 100mm in diameter. He/She was about 3 or more metres long. Anyway, the snake decided this would be a good escape route, and she did, up to the roof and the guttering and headed…somewhere.

Hehe, it was quite funny. The two girls, aged around 12, came around to the front of the motel/resort room and said, “There is a snake outside.” We said, “How big is it?”
The girls said “BIG!” as they stretched their armes out. They were quite calm, so we figured it was a small one…until we walked out into the back garden area and saw her.
