Holidays and Things

In our part of the world, we are mid-way through the July school holidays. This means that I’m not working, but better still, my daughter and her boyfriend are up for a visit :). So, as part of my catch up showing pics that I like, I’ll post some of the Young ‘uns 😉 in FNQ.

This isn’t one of the young ‘uns. This is a Lace Monitor, one of a couple that hang around here certain times of the year.

I took the kids up to Wujal Wujal Falls for a look. They have slowed considerably since the wet.

We also went for a run to Weary Bay Beach.

We also had a look at Black Mountain.

Then we went to a little known, but very popular spot in the middle of no-where, Trevathan Falls. If someone will tell you where they are, make the trip 😉

We also went for a wander up to the ridge behind the house, via the creek. The little brook is dry now, but during the wet you can hear it. This root system would make a very tuneful cascade when the creek flows.

This last photo is random. Looking across the bay and mouth of the Bloomfield River, you can see these buildings. This is the Bloomfield Lodge, a secluded resort accessible only by boat (there *may* be a very rough track in). The Lodge also owns the airstrip down the road.
